This land is unceded Wurundjeri land, the top of the catchment that flows towards Melbourne to become the Maribyrnong River.

Magpies stalk the creek flat, warbling their commentary on the day. The grey shrikes call, back and forth. Lone currawong, gaggle of chuffs, burst of parrots. The clouds drift across the ridge. Towards evening the cockatoos run home up the valley - unruly.
